17th C. Icon of St Jason, Byzantine Church of St. Jason and St. Sosipater, Corfu
Two icons the the Saints of the church can be seen just inside the W. entrance. On the left of the entrance is a full length figure of St. Jason wearing a blue tunic and pink mantle and holding a closed scroll, dated 1649 and by the painter Father Emmanuel Tzanes.
Jason of Tarsus was one of the Seventy Disciples. He appears at Thessaloniki in Acts:17 and Paul the Apostle mentions his kinsman Jason in Romans 16:21.
