Casa de Santa Maria and Farol Museu de Santa Marta, Cascais, Portugal
The 'House of Saint Mary' was built in 1902 by the architect Raul Lino for a wealthy resident, Jorge O'Neil who came from a family with Irish origins. It has been added-to and extended over the years.
Moorish influences are to be seen in the building style, and the interior is richly decorated with blue-and-white painted tiling, much of it from a disused Chapel in Lisbon. The house was acquired by the municipality of Cascais in 2004 and is open to the public.
There is a separate Lighthouse Museum in the group of white buildings next to the light tower on the promontory.
Cascais, Portugal.
