Volkswagen Beetle cabriolet
Browsing my old LDD design folder today and came across a very early WIP of a VW Beetle, as in only the wheelbase and fenders, and decided to try and get it built.
The curves of the real car were quite difficult to represent so this ended up being broken down into three sections for the chassis. The front and rear section are basically the same with the middle section joining the two as well as providing the necessary angles for the look.
When it came to the curves of the roof line I was struggling quite a bit so this became a cabriolet, the folded roof represented on the back by the black curved slope parts, sure did make the design process a lot easier.
Building instructions available from RepuBrick and Google Drive.
Comments, criticism and questions are welcome, and as always keep an eye out for more.
