Due to the problems of me working slowly like I usually do, due to my nature of taking things slowly, and the save corruption I had at the skinning process, I had to draw back on my ambitious vision of my first storyboard, with making two models, one fully rigged the other being a teddy bear, either going to be lightly rigged or blend shaped to move slightly to a 25 second clip.

 

I fell back to only animating the neck up, and working on the 2nd storyboard I made that involves one character talking to himself, but having the camera move to make it look like he’s talking to someone else off screen, this is done by having the transition of everything animating being completely different one frame later as the camera moves instantly in one frame, a little jarring to the viewer, but just a little trick to have an editing point where there is no edit, so I don’t need to use any film editing software and split scenes up.

 

Sadly disappointed in not be able to do the more exotic storyboard idea, as I always challenge myself in animation mainly because it’s my strength and wanted to show off and fully rigged animation, interacting with a fuzzy textured object.

 

Although, now thinking about it, it probably didn’t focus on the face of the character that much, and me rushing at the end is probably due to making a fully modelled and rigged character in the first place as everyone else focused on a neck up character, when I could have easily done the same and if I wanted to continue the work of the model over summer, I could easily, re-skin and rig and made a full body, but I guess I thought wrong about over 12 weeks to work on a fully detailed model would be enough to give some flair.

 

There wasn’t much problems, although I had quite a bit of trouble trying to make a ‘N’ or “De” sound from the mouth, mainly I think it’s because the tongue is extremely active in those expressions and I had a lack worthy amount of blend shapes for the tongue and would definitely make De and N blend shapes for the mouth and tongue next time.

 

Lastly, within render, due to having a lack of experience with after effects and how syncing audio works, I had problems with the sound, but hopefully I sorted it out, by changing the audio over to Mp3 instead of wav and adjusting the place of the audio on the timeslider a bit, so I only think the “No I meant cake” was a little off but that can be because I couldn’t mouth N sounding words so it’s a little off.
