As you can see, a male and female are hugging. What's wrong with this picture? The female is holding a cell phone. What's wrong with that? It does not belong to her. The female has stolen, or pick-pocketed, his cell from (you guessed it) his pocket. The male is compassionate and trusts her so failed to notice this action. This is dangerous, for she now has the ability to go through his contacts, pictures, or even hack into his Facebook or Twitter.
In To Kill A Mockingbird, Tom was compassionate toward Mayella, for he pitied her. She lied, telling everyone that he had raped her. The truth is that her scars were her father's doings. His compassion led him to death in the end.
