The Face as a Boundary

Exploring the way the human race locks the rest of the world out to protect themselves from pain led me to looking at the Face and how we use the face and facial expressions to show the world a mirage of ourselves. I used ideas from Chuck Close about breaking up the face to show broken identity and Jennifer Anderson's wholesome painting style to contrast the brokeness with acceptance.
