My Dad....My Hero

I was siked when I saw FGR's group for the day was "In The Car", and knew this was the shot I wanted to get. Well, at a different time of day and in a different setting, but time constraints didn't cooperate. I claim newbie-itis for the poor quality of the photo but it will always be a special one to me. Not just because I got to play with my dad but because I got to play with him in this particular car. This is my 1965 MGB known as "The Frog" which my dad restored and gave to me upon graduation from high school. The name plate on the dashboard reads, "Made especially for Margaret". I was pretty rough on The Frog while in college (named so because I love frogs and my dad restored it to it's original British racing green), getting into a little fender bender, rusting out the rocker panels, and eventually after one year of marriage blowing the head. (Okay, that doesn't sound quite right, but still). My husband always knew what the car meant to me and refused to get rid of it, promising to one day restore it for a second time. So, everywhere we went...The Frog came along. Paul always found a way to store it..even when it meant parking his car outside the garage. So now, after almost 22 years of marriage, and seven moves, The Frog is in it's initial stages of re-restoration. Yay!!!
