Ringing rant!
We get so much junk on the phone that normally be don't answer it unless we have reason to expect it to be something very very important. Most people who have something worthwhile to say will leave a message, which we can interrupt or reply to later.
Today we are hoping for a call from a bank about a messup they've made. The only person who will try to sort it out has left a message twice, but if we attempt to call back his phone is always engaged because he's gone on to the next person. Today we vowed to be at home and answer every incoming call. So far we've had:
1. The fellow from the Indian subcontinent who wants to tell us that our non-existent Windows machine has a problem.
2. The recorded lady who wants to help us claim for mis-selling of PPI by the banks.
