Yet another group photo

It seems worthwhile to scan these and make them available on the web. I'm enjoying the ease with which I myself can find out things about this old material which would have been impossible a few years ago.

 

This one is probably the population of St Anselm Hall, University of Manchester, circa 1938. The clerical gentleman in the middle of the front row is the Warden. He ought to be The Rev. T.H. South, who held that post 1934-1939.

 

Edgar, my father-in-law is in the second row from the back, 5th from the left.

 

I note that it was OK - even stylish - to smoke a pipe in fairly formal photographs.
