Our village has but one shop. In the three years we have lived there I think that I have only seen it open a handful of times. The stock is - to say the very least - minimal (pre-war canned peaches anyone?). I have a theory that the lady who runs it, runs it purely as a focus for gossip and scandal mongering, or to advertise charity events and post pictures of lost pets.
