MOTION - ROOST
When I discovered that a motion photo was one of our assignments, this is immediately what I wanted to photograph. I wasn't quite sure weather or not I wanted to use a fast or slow shutter speed. A slow shutter speed would have looked cool because the wheel would look blurry as it was spinning. However I felt that a fast shutter speed would look better because then the individual dirt particles from the roost could be seen. The main design principle that I wanted to use was economy. I avoided showing the whole dirt bike to keep things simple and also to keep the viewers focus to the roost itself.
These were my camera settings:
F-Stop: F/3.5
Exposure Time: 1/4000 sec.
ISO Speed: ISO-400
Focal Length: 22mm
Flash : None
Program: Shutter Priority
White Balance: Auto
