........had been going to post this since early November of last year to see if someone could ID these fish (large size).......I'm still keen to know what kind of fish they were partly because it seemed so unusual to see bunches of these finny friends (most of them at least a foot long) sporadically jumping completely out of the relatively shallow water of the beaches along English Bay and Sunset beach (entering False Creek) in Vancouver, at that time of year (for about a one week period)...........

.........perhaps just unusual for me because I just haven't been paying attention when walking the beach in the past..........?

.......the striking aspect of this was the huge jumps they were making as if they were being chased below the surface of the water by seals or diving ducks - whenever I saw them jumping however I saw no obvious indication of seals or waterfowl nearby..........

,,,,,,,,image quality very poor since it's tough enough to catch the fish out of the water (so to speak) anyway, but everytime I was out and saw them, it was a dull, cloudy day........
