A few kilometres from home are some amazing beaches and surf breaks. The prettiest are in the National Park, you have to park up and walk to them - which is fine in the daytime when there's a steady stream of people. At night when there's no-one, well, its kind of spooky. I have wanted to photograph decent star trails for a very long time, and have found that it isn't nearly as easy as it looks. Ambient light, the pesky moon, car headlights, cloud cover, a lack of a decent foreground, they all have conspired against me. I would have got better trails if I'd stayed longer, but there were rustly things in the undergrowth and I did NOT want to find out what they were.
So there we have it. A deserted surf break, star trails and a bit of fear. I did it!
