Star-Lord - Pt. 18 - Let's Dance Pt. 5
(Song in title: www.youtube.com/watch?v=B2HWuR2mq5M)
Not wanting to give the other man an advantage, Korath and Peter stood in defensive poses even though they were five meters away from each other.
”You going to fight me, or stand there all day?” Korath says, trying to break Star-Lord’s motionless stance. But to no avail as the latter remains unmoved.
”I know your fighting tactics, Korath.”
”Ah! What an honor that is. Considering we’ve never dealt blows to one another that means my work has made it to you via a story. I’ve always wanted a legend with me at centre stage.”
”Unfortunately for you. The story came from the Nova leader himself. Y’know, the one that kicked your a…”
Peter was cut off as Korath seemingly had enough and took the first strike. His fist hurtled through the air towards Peter’s face. Quickly, Peter raised his armoured arm up to block the strike. Luckily, his action proved effective as the blow was stopped just as soon as it began. Korath looked at Star-Lord and smiled. With his other hand, the Pursuer quickly pulled back and sent a blow towards Peter’s other side. This blow, unlike the first, was successful in meeting its intended target. Peter dropped his arms to the place of the blow. He doubled over and fell to the ground.
”You may know my moves, but you may not be able to stop them.”
Korath taunts as he brings both hands together and lifts them over his head. As he began swinging them down towards Star-Lord, the latter rolled away and quickly kicked Korath’s legs out from under him. Before the Pursuer was able to get up, Peter jumped on top of him and began sending punch after punch onto the man’s helmet. The former pulled most of his punches as he did not want to seriously injure the latter. Luckily for the Pursuer, Star-Lord lost his concentration in his punches that Korath was able to grab one of his fists and throw him away.
”Amateur!”
The Pursuer got off of his back and walked over towards Star-Lord. The latter was slowly regaining his bearings. Korath grabbed one of his batons and cranked it up to a setting that would kill Peter in seconds. Peter had to think fast. Luckily there was a blaster next to him from one of the fallen soldiers. Quickly, Peter grabbed the blaster and cranked it to stun. He aimed the gun at Korath and sent two blasts out. Both hit their target and Korath dropped to the ground with a loud thud.
Slowly, Peter got up and threw the gun back to where it was. He inspected the room and saw the unconscious Acharnian and tried to wake him but to no avail. His actions were cut short by the sound of footsteps and a robotic whir behind him. The footsteps are light, ones to characterize an attacker that is trying to not alert their prey. Peter takes off his helmet to try to trick the person behind them that he has no idea that they’re there. He slowly reaches for his weapon but is cut off by a voice.
“Don’t even try!”
