Star-Lord - Pt. 7 - Space Oddity Pt. 7.
As Peter's ship lowers to the ground outside a cabin, Quill presses a button on his gauntlet that makes his helmet go over his head. He readies his gun as he slides the cockpit of his ship open.
"Wish me luck."
"Good luck."
Peter then jumps out of his ship and lands on the ground below. He lifts his gaze up to the house before him. The reading on his helmet shows one life form inside. This causes Peter to check his weapon again to make sure it is ready for any possible combat.
"Here we go." Peter says under his breath as he begins his way into the building. He gets up to the door and looks into the window. Alisher is just inside, sitting down in a chair. Luckily he is facing away from the entrance, so Peter will have some element of surprise. With this in mind, Peter kicks in the door and aims his gun towards where Skeleton Ki is sitting. The man jumps from his seat and turns to meet Peter with a gun aimed at him.
"I'd make a reference, but you probably wouldn't understand it." Alisher does not reply, but instead steps to the side of his chair and approaches Peter. He keeps his gun aimed at Peter as he leans down to pick up the polarity regulator. Alisher lifts it up next to his gun and laughs.
"Why'd I take it you ask? Simple. Tivan did not trust you. He needed to be sure he would receive the regulator in tact to he hired me to steal it from you. Whether or not you came after it would determine whether or not you planned to give him the real regulator."
Peter raised his eyebrow underneath his helmet at this remark. He thought that Tivan trusted him considering he's done business with him for a little over a year and never once disappointed.
"I'm a man of my word, Tivan should know that."
"Well let's just say he heard a rumor. Not sure who from, could've been anybody." Sham raised the hand with the regulator to his face and lifted up his first finger. He made a motion as to say "Shh" to Peter.
"You?"
"Yes, but along with a man of your word, we both know you're not a snitch. So I'm sure you won't tell him anything."
"Won't have to if I give him the regulator and tell him you failed at stealing it from me. Wouldn't that be a disappointment considering your title?"
"How would you plan on getting it back? You really don't have any leverage."
"No, but I've got a plan." With that said, Peter pressed a button on his gauntlet and talked into a comm on his helmet. "Rora, Fire!"
Just as soon as Peter said that he dropped to the ground and a large laser shot through the window of the building. It was centimeter's from hitting Skeleton Ki, but was close enough to give him a startle. This caused him to fall backwards and drop the regulator. Peter and Alisher both met each other's gaze. Alisher quickly jumped towards the regulator as Peter did the same.
"You won't leave here with that!"
"Don't be so sure!"
