Crimson Comet - Pt. 6 - Captain Cold.
The autopsy of my father's body showed an unusual blockage in his heart. The blockage was that of solid ice. I couldn't figure out why, but I remembered a news report from twenty or so years ago about a criminal that used an ice-gun as his weapon. He was called Captain Cold.
Why am I bringing this up? Well, about a month ago, a man named Leonard Snart had been part of a criminal group experiment. He was one of the few criminals that had chosen to make their weapons a physical part of themselves. With help from Darwin Elias that was possible. Snart had chosen the powers of Cryokinesis. Thus the news has given the name Captain Cold to Leonard Snart.
With his new found abilities he had went on a crime spree. Freezing his victims and literally crushing anyone to pieces if he felt like it. He was emitted into Brookfield Heights a week ago. The same prison my dad was in. Within twenty four hours he was already breaking people out of their prisons. A surviving guard said that he saw my dad trying to play the good guy card and Leonard had shot an ice crystal at my dads chest. That, I suppose, was the cause of death.
Anyways, Leonard Snart was spotted taking control of a bank in New Brighton. So, I race off to that bank. As I arrive, I notice the door frozen and ripped from it's hinges, now lying about ten feet right of the bank entrance. Looks like I found Snart...
I run inside and spot Snart threatening the bank teller to get him all the money in every safe. the teller says he can't do that without permission, and Snart raises his arm up to the teller's head. Before he can do anything I run towards the teller and carry him outside.
"Find a phone, and call the cops."
The bank teller is confused at what exactly just happened, but he nods and runs towards a phone booth... do those things even work anymore? Oh right, Snart is robbing the bank.
I rush back inside the bank and Snart is missing. A hostage pointed to the back room. This is obviously where the safes are. As quickly as I can I run inside and find Snart unloading safes as quick as he can.
"Leonard Snart. Stop what you're doing now!"
"Oh, so the son comes to avenge his father. Fantastic."
Wh... how does he know?
I charge at him and carry him outside. I won't allow him to hurt anyone inside that bank. He looks around to his surprise. Before he can do anything, I punch him as hard as I can without killing him I send him flying into a butcher shop. He struggles to get up, but before I can, I punch him into a freezer.
He stands up and I walk inside the freezer. There's a pig hanging on the wall... it's a cheap weapon, so I won't try to use it.
Snart begins conjuring an ice shard and he throws it at me. I dodge it as it lodges itself into the wall. Before he can throw another one at me I charge him and punch him in the head. He falls to the ground and takes off his goggles.
"Y'know, it's funny..."
"What?"
"You fight just like you're father."
Wrong thing to say. I raise my fist up, but before I can knock him out he stops me.
"Wait! There's one thing I was to tell you... It's from a man you'll meet later on. He wanted me to tell you this in these exact words... You'll see me once, you'll see me twice, but the third is when you'll pay the price."
A death threat? After he says that I knock him out cold. I will not let this frighten me...
