Doodle City
Imagining a typical 19th century grid block city with heavy development pressure that has evolved from just two planning rules.
Rule 1. All buildings must receive direct sun light to all habitable spaces.
Rule 2. The habitable spaces of all buildings must be naturally ventilated.
The consequence of these two rules has resulted in dense medium rise city blocks with narrow floor plates orientated to the sun.
