ICA Kinamo 35mm

IN ENGLISH BELOW THE LINE

===================================

The ICA Kinamo is probably the smallest 35mm film camera in history; and one of the oldest film cameras I have. It was manufactured in Germany between 1921 and 1926 (but probably between 1921 and 1924), designed by Emanuel Goldberg. There were several models, the A for 50 feet of film (15 meters) and the B, slightly larger, for 80 feet (17.5 meters). This last model could also be fitted with a spring motor which made the camera more versatile, without the need for a hand crank or tripod. In any case, it could only film a maximum of about 45 seconds with 15 meters and a minute and a little with 17 meters. Later it would still be produced by Zeiss Ikon until the early 1930s. The late existence of an equally compact camera also called Kinamo... but which is 16mm leads to confusion.

My model is the original ICA and completely manual, so it must date from 1921-1924, and it works quite well. I had some problems with the hand crank, but they are now solved. When I can I will show you some films that I have shot (but scanning is very expensive). It uses reusable 15m cassettes, and I have two of them.
