Zona de foc de la L2 / Great line of fire

IN ENGLISH BELOW THE LINE

=================================================

Panoramic picture taken with a Soviet KMZ FT-2 camera, made in 1965; Kodak Ektar 100 film, home developed with the C-41 Adox kit.

View of a spanish civil war fortification in L'Ametlla de Segarra, part of the L-2 Line of defense of Catalonia, built in 1938.

This particular bunker is located in La Pleta de Foguet, right on a cliff that perfectly overlooks the Torrent de Vilagrasseta and the road that leads from Verdú to Granyella de Segarra. It is the typical round concrete machine gun nest, but in this case it also has stone-lined trenches towards the rear. The front part seems to have been damaged, perhaps in combat (although the entire Linea L2 fell without much effort), or perhaps in the post-war period, by scavengers trying to recover the iron of the structure (but then, they would have damaged the much more accessible rear!).
