El meu aví pujà allà a dalt / My grandfather's rite of passage

Per part del avi patern, la meva familia vé d'Esparreguera; en concret el meu besavi hi va neixer, i el meu avi també sembla que hi va anar sovint. Pel que deia el meu pare, fins hi tot el jovent de la vila feien una "iniciació" consistent en voltar la barana de dalt del campanar (el 2on més alt de Catalunya)... per fora!!

This is the church of Esparreguera, the town where my grandgrandfather was born; his son, my grandfather visited the place several times I presume. Anyway, my father once told me that the town's young ones (my grandfather among them) had back then a sort of "initiation" consisting in walking around the bell tower (60 m. high, the 2nd highest in Catalonia)... from the outside of the balustrade on top of it!!
