Calotip mètode Pélegry modificat (mel en comptes de xerigot), en format 4x5.; paper Canson Marker; 1:30 min. d'exposició a f8; EV 14.2; paper ioditzat el maig de 2024. Revelat amb acid gal·lic i 1,5 ml. d'acetonitrat de plata durant 16 minuts, compensant amb 2 ml. d'acid acetic. Negatiu invertit digitalment amb Photoshop.
Càmera Graflex Crown Graphic de format 4x5 polzades, fabricada cap al 1949; objectiu Graflex Optar f4.7.
El cementiri vell de L'Escala, també conegut com el cementiri dels pescadors, es troba actualment encerclat per edificacions modernes, però conserva el seu magnific interior completament blanc. Funcionà des de inicis del s. XIX fins el 1970, i hi destaca la tomba de Catarina Albert, coneguda literariament com a Victor Català.
Diuen que als anys 70 el volien enderrocar per fer espai per a més apartaments i hotels. Diuen.

Calotype (modified Pélegry, with honey instead of whey); Canson Marker paper; 1:30 min. exposure at f8, EV 14,2. Developed with gallic acid and 1.5 ml of acetonitrate of silver for 16 minutes, adding 2 ml. of acetic acid. Original negative digitally inverted with Photoshop.

This is the old fishermen cemetery in L'Escala, active from early XIX Century to 1970, and now a protected monument. It's well mantained and fully painted white. Among the tombs there's the one of Caterina Albert, who had to write with a male name (Victor Català) to gain recognition in the XIX Century.
I've heard that in the 1970's the local authorities wanted to demolish it, to make room for more tourist apartments and hotels. Luckily culture survived.
