De tant en tant, a la linea Barcelona - Vallès dels FGC, treuen a passejar algun diumenge al antic tren serie 400, però conegut per tothom com a "Granota". En aquesta ocasió varem poder anar-hi des de Les Planes fins a Bellaterra.
Els "Granotes" foren construits a Barcelona, als Tallers de Sarrià, entre 1944 i 1952. Varen estar en servei fins al 1996, tot i que esporadicament continuaren servint fins el 2003. Son molt estimats per tots aquells que els ferem servir, en el meu cas als anys 80 i 90. Fotografiat aquí a l'estació de Les Planes.

From time to time, on the Barcelona - Vallès line of the FGC (Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya), they take the old 400 series railcar, known to everyone as "Granotes" ("frogs" in Catalan, for their round lights and green color), for a walk on a Sunday. On this occasion we were able to go from Les Planes to Bellaterra.
The "Granotes" were built in Barcelona, at the Tallers de Sarrià, between 1944 and 1952. They were in service until 1996, although they continued to serve sporadically until 2003. They are much loved by all those who used them, in the my case in the 80s and 90s. Photographed here at Les Planes station.
By the way, a lot of them where sold to Cuba in 1997, and used till now in the Matanzas - Casablanca line. I've seen them and look in quite dismal state, but working at least till 2017 or 2019. I don't know if they are still in use.
