Aquesta càmera de gran format, en fusta i llautó, probablement sigui la més vella que ha passat per les meves mans. Entre indicacions de la seva arcaicitat hi ha la manca de cap tipus d'anclatge per a tripode, el sistema de xasssis que sembla indicar que fou dissenyada per a plaques de col·lodió, i el seu objectiu. En concret l'objectiu és del tipus "pillbox", més tècnicament un achromat per a paisatges. Es tracta d'un objectiu molt simple, amb poca obertura (f8... f11??) i pertant molt lent, ideal per a paisatges però completament incapaç de fer-se servir per a retrats amb les tècniques del s. XIX. En tot cas no porta cap mena de marca de fabricant.
En quant a època i lloc de fabricació és dificil de precisar. El més probable es que fos fabricada a França, Anglaterra o Alemania cap al periode 1860-1880.

This large-format camera, in wood and brass, is probably the oldest that has passed through my hands. Indications of its archaicness include the lack of any type of tripod mount, the chassis system probably designed for wet collodion plates, and its lens.
