The church of St. Laurence, in Bradford-upon-Avon, is also known as the Saxon Church, as it is one of the oldest churches in England.

It seems to have been founded by St. Adhelm around 700 AD, although the current building probably dates from the s. X or XI. It has survived structurally intact due to being replaced by a Romanesque church built next to it, and at the same time being converted into a barn and a house. It was rediscovered in 1856, and restored.
