La FED-3 és una baula més dins la familia evolutiva sovietica de clons de la Leica II. Com el seu nom indica, és la tercera variant de les FED fabricades a Kharkov.
Aquest és la variant FED-3b, fabricada entre 1963 i 1972 en gran nombre. L'objectiu és un Industat-61 f2,8 / 52mm, aparentment fabricat el 1969; probablement això indica també l'any de fabricació de la càmera. Aquesta fou aparentment exportada, ja que al dors està estampada "Made in the USSR" en anglès.

The FED-3 is another link in the Soviet evolutionary family of Leica II clones. As its name suggests, it is the third variant of the FED's made in Kharkov.
This is the FED-3b variant, manufactured between 1963 and 1972 in large numbers. The lens is an Industat-61 f2.8 / 52mm, apparently manufactured in 1969; probably this also indicates the year of the camera. This one was apparently exported, as on the back is engraved the text "Made in the USSR" in English.
