El 2020, l'any maleït, la Patum es va veure cancel·lada per primer cop des de la guerra civil, en concret des del 1938.

La Patum, a very important celebration, the heart of Berga it could be said, was cancelled in this damned 2020, due to the coronavirus. It was the first year without Patum since the spanish civil war, that was in 1938. La Patum has been celebrated in Berga since at least the XVII Century, and probably the middle ages. It's now part of the UNESCO World Heritage.
The text in the town hall (of Berga) says "freedom for the political prisoners", refering to the Catalan independentist prisoners held by the spanish "so called" democracy.
