El refugi d'Amitges, inaugurat el 1966, és un dels més coneguts de Catalunya. Situat a 2.365 m. d'alçada, està situat entre estanys i impressionants pics de roca, com les Agulles d'Amitges, que el dominen. S'hi pot arribar pujant des del estany de Sant Maurici, i fins hi tot en taxi 4x4. Forma part del la coneguda travessa de muntanya "Carros de foc".
Des del refugi es poden contemplar les fantàstiques Agulles d'Amitges.

The Amitges mountain hut, is one of the most known and well located in Catalonia. It's located at 2365 m. above sea level, in the middle of the Aiguestortes - Sant Maurici national park, in the maybe most scenic spot in the whole Catalan Pyrenees. It can be reached by foot or even 4WD taxi through Espot and the Sant Maurici lake.
In front of the hut you can see the twin peaks of the Agulles d'Amitges.
