Al estiu i tardor del 1938, les forces republicanes feren una considerable i totalment desaprofitada tasca de fortificació de la reraguarda del front del Segre. Es planificaren 6 linies de defensa, però només es completaren parcialment la L1 i la L2.
A les afores d'Albatarrec, al sud de Lleida, es troba aquest bunker circular, situat entre camps de fruiters. Deuria formar part de la linea L1, ja que només està a uns pocs quilometres del Segre, on hi havia el front.

In the summer and autumn of 1938, during the spanish Civil War, the Republican forces made a considerable and totally misused task of fortification of the rearguard areas of the Segre front. Six lines of defense were planned, but only the L1 and L2 were partially completed.
This round bunker stands today at the outskirts of Albatarrec, south of Lleida, and located just a few km. behind the front, in the river Segre.
