El Vapor Codina fou una fàbrica tèxtil de Sabadell, fundat el 1880. Tot i que la majoria fou enderrocat a inicis del s.XXI, encara es conserva la xemeneia, un parell de naus (que acullen oficines municipals), i la preciosa porta de ferro forjat.
Foto presa amb una Goerz Ango fabricada cap al 1908 (quan era una de les càmeres més ràpides del món); pel·licula de quart de placa Shanghai GP3 de 100 ISO, revelat en safata amb HC110 i escanejat amb Epson V800.
Ha costat prou poder fer aquesta foto: primer em mancaven els adaptadors (sheats) per a pel·licula en els portaplaques, pel que no enfocava be (la placa de vidre és més gruixuda i rígida que la pel·licula). Després ha costat trobar pel·licula de quart de placa, només Shanghai en fa, però resulta que és un fabricant pesim, i els fulls eren 1mm més amples que els adaptadors, pel que quedaven doblegats; i a sobre tenia fuites de llum en els portaplaques. La mida bona la he obtingut amb una cisalla, i he après a obrir el portaplaques sense treure del tot la tapa.

The Vapor Codina is a former textile mill in my hometown, Sabadell (once called the Catalan Manchester). It was founded in 1880, and some halls remain, as well as this beautiful iron gate.
Picture taken with a Goerz Ango (1/4 plate) made c.1908 (when it was one of the fastests cameras in the World); Shanghai GP3 film @100, tray developed with HC110, scanned with an Epson V800.
Quite difficult to have this first good Goerz Ango picture. I had to provide film sheats to the plate holders, the find quarter plate film sheets (which nobody manufactures by now, except the Chinese). But these Shanghai GP3 sheets are cheap and not the correct size for 1 or 2 mm. So I had to trim them in the dark room (my toilet, at night). And finally I had massive light leaks in the holders, just in the space for the dark slides. I'm a bit dumb, but the real solution was to take the picture with the dark slide open but still attached to the holder to close the gap.
