En català, el nom d'aquesta torre és "torre dels llauners". El més curiós és que encara té marques de metralla del ultim setge, crec que per part dels turcs el segle XVIII. Cada gremi de la ciutat de Sighisoara es va fer carrec de construir i mantenir una de les torres de la muralla. A Barcelona el 1714 pasava el mateix amb els batallons de la coronela, organitzats per gremis.
Sighisoara (Schäßburg en alemany) és una de les ciutats més boniques i antigues de Transilvania i Romania. Ho referma el fet que és patrimoni mundial de la UNESCO. Un fet molt famós [especialment per als xiringuitos de turisme] és que aquí va neixer Vlad III Dracula, l'Empalador.

That's the "tinker's tower" of Sighisoara. Each tower was built by one guild of the city. This tower still has marks of shrapnel from the last siege of the city (by the turks?), in the XVIII century.
Sighisoara (Schäßburg in german) is one of the most beautiful and medieval looking cities in Transylvania or Romania. A plus for the freaks is that here was born Vlad III Dracula, the Impaler. And also Hermann Oberth, one of the fathers of space flight.
