Peratallada skyline

==================================================

To the left, one of the wall's defence towers, and to the right, the main tower of Peratallada castle, one of the best preserved in Catalonia.

The Catalan village of Peratallada (for me possibly the most beautiful in Catalonia) has a very complex medieval urbanism. Centered arround the castle of the Cruilles noble family, the village has several interconected walls and moats, only partly preserved. The stone-carved moats give the name to the village, Peratallada, which means 'cut/carved stone'.
