Un trencalòs allà a dalt! / Far away bearded vulture
Amagat dins al cotxe a prop dels cingles de Benavent de la Conca, vaig poder fotografiar aquest trencalòs (gypaetus barbatus) planejant just sobre l'estimbat. Un ocell espectacular, espero veure'l més d'aprop!

Finally I spotted and even took a picture of one of the most spectacular birds in the Pyrenees, the bearded vulture (gypaetus barbatus), trencalòs in Catalan. Trencalòs means "break the bone", and this is really what these vultures do, break bones against stones to get to the marrow. They also kill their lesser brothers in the nest, but that's another history!
