====================================================

This is the breech of the forward firing gun in the HMS M.33 gunboat. As you can see it looks almost brand new, even being a century old and having quite an eventful life in the british and chilean navies. It's a Welin breech block style, very common in early XX Century heavy guns.

The HMS M.33, a humble gunboat with only 2 guns it's the only survivor of the all-mighty Royal Navy of 1914-1918. It's quite frustrating to know (even not being british myself) that all those wonderful Dreadnoughs were all gone. Not by the guns of the enemy, but almost all by the torch!

The HMS M.33 served in the battle of the Dardanelles and now can be visited in the Porsmouth Historic Dockyard.
