A les ribes del Rin prop del fotogenic Burg Pfaltz es troba aquest discret monument que suposo molta gent ni s'hi fixa. De fet es refereix al pas del riu pel mariscal Blücher (i el seu exèrcit), potser el més ferotge enemic de Napoleó. Això fou justament la nit de Cap d'any del 1813/1814. Es un element significatiu en l'imaginari prussià i alemany, ja que per primera vegada la guerra passaba cap a la banda "francesa" del Rin, anunciant la caiguda del emperador cors.
