Powerline Palmettos

I've never understood why people buy land to build a house and then go to so much trouble to bulldoze the palmettos. The Saw Palmetto is a beautiful palm native to the American south. It looks great in a landscape.

My mom always told us to stay away from palmettos because there were rattlesnakes in them. Maybe that's why some people don't like them.
