Thoon Hulk and Concord Illithid
As powerful as they are, the Mind Flayers have always lacked raw muscle. And then this happened. Originally an offshot off the weird and confusing Thoon cult, Thoon Hulks became standard Mind Flayer constructs in 4th Edition. It's basically a Frankenthulhu - pieces from several Mind Flayer corpses plus a few various victims sewn together, powered by an eldritch and toxic formula, and with axes for hands, Thoon Hulks aren't in it for mind blasts and brain eating. It smashes enemies who made it past those other defenses.
