Hyakki Yako - The Night Parade of a Hundred Demons

百鬼夜行

Hyakki yakō "The Night Parade of One Hundred Demons", when all of Japan's Youkai take to the streets in a parade in the middle of a summer's night. Anybody who comes across the march will die unless protected.

(Youkai refers to a class of Japanese supernatural creature usually translated as "ghost," but which is really about as varied as the european concept of "Fairy," which could mean anything from benign little winged people to grotesque giants. Youkai vary from animated umbrellas to a lizard that licks dirty ceilings.)

For those of you versed in Japanese mythology, try to name some of them! For those who aren't... sorry.
