Not mentioned in Scripture, but really prominent in the Apocrypha, Uriel is the Angel of Presence, the Angel of Repentance, He Who Stands at the Gate of Eden with a Fiery Sword, and He Who Watches Over Thunder and Terror. He is a pitiless judge, a terrifying enemy, and yet a kind and warm comfort to the saints. His name means, "God is My Light."
