Darth Plagueis the Wise...
Darth Sidious's master was unique in Sith history. A Muun by the name of Hego Damask, Pagueis sought to study the Force scientifically, shedding all notions of it as a mystic power. He abandoned the Rule of Two, encouraging Sidious to adopt apprentices of his own, and to move away from distrust and betrayal. He and his apprentice sought to create life through idichlorians, but found their experiments to be failures... or so they thought. The disturbances they created in the Force sent a ripple effect through the galaxy, culminating in the birth of one special child...
Darth Plagueis's trust in Sidious would soon prove to be his undoing, as Palpatine murdered him in his sleep the night before he became Supreme Chancellor (yes, this means that Plagueis was alive through most of The Phanto Menace). And yet, the parallels betwen the two cannot be denied. Both were skilled and cunning tacticians, both powerful warriors who disdained getting their hands dirty, and both underestimated their greatest apprentices.
