Golden Gate LR

This was the last shot of the day and a total lighting nightmare because of the upper windows. I thought I would be able to shot it mostly available light, but no, those windows were way too hot so...

5 SB800's

One CR, wide angle diffusion pointed directly into room at 1/2 power

One CL, stofen, pointed into corner to get the blanket light at full power

One on camera, wide angle diffusion to get light over the chair and not blow it out at 1/2 power.

One in the kitchen, wide angle diffusion at 1/8 power

And the light that I worked with what seemed forever, one in the kitchen doorway pointed into the diningroom. Wide angle diffusion at 1/4 power. The difficult part was that there was only one place to put a light (I tried to no avail to place one behind the railing to the right of the sofa.) Also the ceiling height is lower in the diningroom, so to avoid lots and lots of shadows on the wall I had to have the light at 4', exactly half way between the floor and the ceiling. Not my preference because that made a horrible hot spot on the ceiling. You can see the shadows from this light on the right wall, but if I dialed the flash down there was simply not enough light.

This was also the last shot that I edited running out the door to another job. Guess I could have worked with the horizontal lines a bit more.
