Robber Fly with prey

Found at Reserva Ecológica de Guapiaçu (REGUA), in Cachoeiras de Macacu municipality in state of Rio de Janeiro in southeastern Brazil.

 

Atomosiini of sorts. Thinking Oidardis sp. It was in the 5-7mm range. Prey is a beetle, possibly Monotomidae.

 

Found on Green Trail (Trilha Verde).
