False Click Beetle (Isarthrus rufipes)

Isarthrus rufipes (Melsheimer, 1844). Thanks to Robert Otto for providing the species determination on bugguide. Found at Mayville Ledge Beech-Maple Woods SNA in east-central Wisconsin. Dodge County, Wisconsin, USA.

 

Found in mixed hardwood forest. It was on a fallen dead debarked hardwood tree.
