Horse Fly (Hybomitra sp.)

Male Hybomitra sp. Found at Wazee Lake Recreation Area in west central Wisconsin. Jackson County, Wisconsin, USA.

 

Found in oak/pine barrens habitat. It was quite tolerant of my presence, probably due to the relatively cool weather that day.
