Fungus Weevil (Eurymycter sp.)
Eurymycter sp. Found at Mayville Ledge Beech-Maple Woods SNA in east-central Wisconsin. Dodge County, Wisconsin, USA.
Found in mixed hardwood forest. It seemed to be grazing on a patch of close-appressed fungus on the trunk of a fallen dead debarked hardwood tree. Gouge marks from this feeding are visible in the carpet of fungus directly below the head and thorax of the beetle.
