Checkered Beetle (Zenodosus sanguineus)

Zenodosus sanguineus (Say, 1835). Found at Mayville Ledge Beech-Maple Woods SNA in east-central Wisconsin. Dodge County, Wisconsin, USA.

 

Found in mixed hardwood forest. Found on the trunk of a dead debarked hardwood snag.
