Beetle larva

Found at Mayville Ledge Beech-Maple Woods SNA in east-central Wisconsin. Dodge County, Wisconsin, USA.

 

If I remember correctly, it was in the 6-8mm range.

 

Found in mixed hardwood forest. It was found on the trunk of a dead fallen debarked hardwood tree.
