Tiger Beetle (Cicindela formosa generosa)
Cicindela formosa generosa Dejean, 1831. Found at Kohler-Andrae State Park in eastern Wisconsin. Sheboygan County, Wisconsin, USA.
Found and photographed in sand 'pit' surrounding swingset in park open space not far from beach. No one was on the swingset at the time. I'm sure people were wondering what I was doing on my belly with a camera. Luckily park was not crowded due to it being a weekday. This individual was initially wary, but then became a pretty cooperative subject.
