Syrphid Fly (Chalcosyrphus libo)

Chalcosyrphus libo (Walker, 1849). Found at Griffith State Nursery in Wisconsin Rapids in central Wisconsin. Wood County, Wisconsin, USA.

 

Several of these were hanging out on a fallen red pine tree.
