Robber Fly (Laphria cinerea)

Male Laphria cinerea (Back 1904). Found at Wazee Lake Recreation Area in west central Wisconsin. Jackson County, Wisconsin, USA.

 

Found in pine barrens habitat. He was hanging out on a felled pine tree (probably jack pine).
