Robber Fly with prey

Found at Palo Verde Biological Station, inside Palo Verde National Park. Guanacaste Province, Costa Rica.

 

Robber is a female Asilinae. Prey looks to possibly be a Red-tailed Stingless Bee - Trigona fulviventris. Found on Sendero El Guayacán.

 

You can see bubbles in the liquified body tissues in the abdomen of the bee in this shot.
